Most Wednesday nights I’m snuggled up in bed by 8:30pm, after I’ve laid out my outfit for the next day and said my prayers. But this past Wednesday night I went to Madison Square Garden and watched Spoon and Arcade Fire perform live!! I am a very lucky girl.
They are two of my favorite bands in the world, and they did not disappoint. After I got over the fact that all those lucky bastards in General Admission were only a couple seconds ahead of me on ticketmaster, I realized that the energy in the venue was pretty incredible. It wasn’t the youngster hipster crowd I’d anticipated. It was more of a twenty something/thirty something group, still in their work clothes, movin’ and groovin’ about. Everyone was going wild! White folk sure know how to jump and wave their arms! I’m not poking fun, it’s just an observation. We were boogie-ing down just the same!
Special thanks to the kind gentleman in the cargo truck who offered my boyfriend and I a bottle of water after the show. Much appreciated.
Here’s some photos for you, courtesy of Alexander Stein from Pitchfork.com, and a few of my favorite songs from Spoon and Arcade Fire.
6 of us ventured to New Jersey this weekend to go camping in Round Valley. Contrary to popular belief, New Jersey can be quite green and beautiful.
We read up on our safety literature in the main cabin to prepare ourselves for the wild we were soon to encounter.
And we were off on our way! A 5 mile hike to our campsite.
Once we arrived, we frolicked about and everything was perfect.
